About Us

Personal Information

Gary – Birthday – 2-18
I was raised on a dairy farm and grew up in a Baptist home. My parents were active members of Bible Baptist Church in Jerome, ID. I did the “church thing” because that is what is expected of by my parents. I was 17 before I made the personal decision to receive Christ asmy personal Lord and Saviour. Shortly afterwards, during a mission’s conference, I felt God’s call to missions. I graduated from Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College with a BA in 1982
It was at college that I had met Verda and we were married July 15, 1983.

Verda – Birthday 4-3
I was saved through the bus ministry of Liberty Baptist Church in San Jose, CA. My two sisters and I faithfully rode the Sunday school bus to church. In June of 1973, I was lead to the Lord by my Sunday school teacher. It was through a no-bus Sunday that we encouraged our dad and mom to take us to church. On that Sunday my dad was saved and baptized. My mom came to know the Lord during my senior year of high school.

During summer camp, I surrendered my life for fulltime service. Upon high school graduation I enrolled into Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College and graduated with a BA in elementary education.

Service before mission work

Upon graduation, as a single man, I went to work at Grace Baptist Church Hesperia, CA, as the associate. Verda and I were married and we continued there until ’84. We then were encouraged to begin a church in Barstow, CA.

1982-84 – Associate pastor – Grace Baptist Church, Hesperia, CA
1984-86 – Pastor – Barstow, CA
1988-90 – Youth pastor – Bible Baptist Church, Mountain Home ID
1990-91 – Jr. High/ Youth Pastor – Harvest Baptist Temple, Medford, OR

Our call to Papua New Guinea

While we were in Medford, OR, our pastor, Dr. Bob Gass, visited the field of Papua New Guinea. Having surrendered for mission’s while in college, Verda and I were touched by the slides and video footage he shared with the church upon his return. There was no doubt in our minds and hearts that Papua New Guinea was were God wanted us.
